Barbie’s Beach House is coming to Kansas City, Kansas.
Mattel and Epic Resort Destinations revealed Monday that they will open a second Mattel Adventure Park location in Bonner Springs, Kansas — a town in the Kansas City metro area — in 2026. This news comes less than a year after the duo announced the world’s first Mattel Adventure Park will open in Glendale, Arizona, in 2024 as part of the upcoming Vai Resort.
“We are proud and excited to announce Kansas City, Kansas, as the second themed entertainment destination location for Mattel Adventure Park, an Epic Resort Destinations licensing partnership with Mattel,” Mark Cornell, president of Epic Resort Destinations, said in a press release. “We are bringing Mattel’s powerhouse brands to life through state-of-the-art technology and engaging experiences. This new destination is sure to provide infinite fun for the whole family.”
Based on what we know so far, it seems like both parks have similar offerings. The release announcing the new location states that Mattel Adventure Park Kansas City will offer the same “highly anticipated attractions” as Mattel Adventure Park Glendale. These attractions include two Hot Wheels roller coasters called Hot Wheels Bone Shaker: The Ultimate Ride and Hot Wheels Twin Mill Racer.

Hot Wheels Bone Shaker: The Ultimate Ride is a family-friendly coaster that will climb to a height of 84 feet and will feature the classic Hot Wheels hot rod skull design. With its double loop and two corkscrew maneuvers, thrill seekers will love the Hot Wheels Twin Mill Racer coaster.

Mattel Adventure Park Kansas City will also have a He-Man versus Skeletor laser tag arena designed to look like Castle Grayskull, an 18-hole miniature golf course inspired by classic Mattel games like Magic 8 Ball and Pictionary, and an Uno-themed play area.

Younger visitors will enjoy the “Thomas & Friends” area with five rides and attractions, including an indoor play space.
Kens and Barbies of all ages will feel right at home at the park’s larger-than-life Barbie Beach House. This interactive attraction will feature a Barbie Dream Closet Experience that uses hologram technology to bring Barbie to life. It’ll also have a Barbie-themed flying theater and a Barbie-themed rooftop restaurant and bar.
MATTEL ADVENTURE PARK
“Mattel Adventure Park Kansas City will bring our iconic brands to life with epic roller coasters, family-friendly attractions, an immersive theatre, themed dining, and so much more,” said Josh Silverman, chief franchise officer at Mattel. “We are thrilled to expand these themed entertainment destinations and invite new fans to experience the world of Mattel in all-new ways as they create lasting memories with loved ones.”
In addition to Glendale’s Mattel Adventure Park, there is an upcoming Peppa Pig theme park in Dallas and a Universal theme park designed for young kids coming to Frisco, Texas. Mattel Adventure Park Kansas City is the latest in a trend toward smaller, family-friendly theme parks dubbed micro parks. These parks are smaller than traditional theme parks and don’t require the same level of planning, money or time to enjoy. This leaves time to experience other area attractions and activities during your vacation.
Keep an eye on TPG for updates on all of these parks. You can also visit the Mattel Adventure Park website for an up-to-date list of attractions and more details on the progress at both Mattel theme parks.
