TODAY'S ADVENTURE

4 Activities To Do When Visiting South Africa

South Africa is by far one of the most diversely beautiful places on planet Earth. It has a booming tourism industry which keeps people coming back for more of its stunning landscapes, incredible wildlife, award-winning wineries, beautiful beaches, and its lively and cosmopolitan cities. South Africa has a little bit of everything for everyone, whether you are a city slicker wanting a taste of the unique nightlife and rich social scene, or an eco-warrior wanting the volunteer experience at a local permaculture farm, South Africa has it all.

There are so many different and incredible things to do in South Africa. It spans over 2,800 kilometres and is home to over 56 million people.  Driving from one end of the country to the other will easily take you around 1 week, and that isn’t even with many stops in between! If you are wondering where to book your next exciting adventure holiday, then try this bottom corner of the world, it truly is a little slice of heaven.

Despite there being thousands of awesome things to do in South Africa, we have narrowed it down to 4 amazing suggestions for you to try out when you are here:

Hiking

If you are a hiking enthusiast, nature lover or you just enjoy walking, then boy oh boy are you in for a treat. South Africa has some of the most incredible hikes up mountains, through indigenous forest and along breathtaking coastlines. Some special hikes and trails to look out for are: The Otter Trail on the Garden Route, hiking up Table Mountain in Cape Town, hiking The Drakensberg Mountains, The Leopard Trail through the Baviaanskloof in The Western Cape, The Fish River Canyon Hike and The Rim of Africa Trail. These are just a handful of suggestions; the list goes on and on!

Safari

South Africa is home to some incredible wildlife, many of whom are housed in gigantic biodiverse game parks stretching hundreds of kilometres. You can pay to stay in these parks in all kinds of different accommodations and indulge in the luxury of game drives and animal spotting. This is thrilling and out of this world, especially when you are arm’s length away from a giraffe or baby elephant. We suggest checking out Addo National Park, Pilansburg and Kruger National Park to book the best safaris in the country.

Beaches

If you are a beach person, then you will find yourself in a beach heaven in South Africa. There is a coastline that stretches more than 3000 kilometres in total. This coastline is filled with truly stunning beaches and gorgeous blue waters filled with spectacular marine life. Some beaches we recommend you visit: Natures Valley Beach on The Garden Route, Robberg Beach in Plettenberg Bay, Camps Bay Beach in Cape Town, Gonubie Beach on the Eastern Cape, Coffee Bay in The Transkei, and Thonga Beach in KwaZulu Natal.

Wine Tasting

Whether you indulge in a glass of wine every night while playing online pokies in Australia for real money or like to share a bottle with your best friend on the weekend, the South African wineries will have you wanting to take boxes home with you. The South African climate is perfect for growing specific grape species and therefore makes some of the best bottles of wine in the world.

The wine industry is booming in South Africa, here are some suggestions of wineries to visit that are not only set on beautiful wine farms but also create divine bottles of wine: Waterford Estate, Spier Wine Farm, Delaire Graff Estate, Jordan Wine Estate, Nederburg Wines, Groot Constantia, and La Motte Wine Estate to name but a few.

First look: We got early access to Disney Cruise Line’s first new ship in 10 years

HOSTED BY: 1 AIR TRAVEL

As Mickey Mouse would say, “Oh boy!”

For the first time in a decade, Disney Cruise Line is debuting a new ship, and — as we saw during an exclusive sneak peek on Tuesday — it’s truly spectacular.

Scheduled to be unveiled to the media Wednesday at Port Canaveral in Florida, the 2,500-passenger Disney Wish offers everything from a “Star Wars”-themed bar and a waterslide that features animation to a revamped kids club and interactive “Frozen”- and Marvel-themed restaurants.

As we saw during our early look, and as you can see in our first-look array of Disney Wish photos below, it’s a vessel heavy on technology as well as magic.

Scroll down for TPG’s exclusive Disney Wish first look in photos. We’ll be posting lots more live from the ship over the next four days as Disney holds a preview event for the media in advance of the ship’s first sailings with paying passengers next month.

6 Amazing Places to Visit in Montana and How to Do It

TODAY'S ADVENTURE

6 Amazing Places to Visit in Montana and How to Do It

Montana is one of those destinations that would be great for anyone who enjoys spending most of their time outdoors. If you are an adventurous soul who wants to explore the natural beauty of the outdoors, Montana has a lot in store for you. That’s why I have made a list of the best places to visit in Montana.

6 Amazing Places to Visit in Montana and How to Do It

Housing multiple national parks and extensive rural land, Montana will provide you with the best scenery and an abundance of wildlife. So, if you are looking for an unforgettable trip to the Big Sky Country, keep on reading to find out about 6 of the best locations you can go to in Montana.

6 Best Places to Visit in Montana

Great Falls

Due to it being in the very center of Montana, the Great Falls is one of the most popular destinations for tourists. The Great Falls, which is also known as the Electric City, can be a stopping point for you if you’re visiting nearby national parks or if you were simply near the middle of Montana. They’re a magnificent sight to behold and are certainly one that you won’t get bored with any time soon. There are multiple routes that you can take when visiting the Great Falls. For example, you can walk along the Missouri River banks, or you can visit the Ryan Dam. Either way, you’ll have extensive knowledge about American history at the end of the day.

Glacier National Park

if you want to start your trip by visiting one of the most magical destinations in Montana, you’d better go to the wonderland that is the Glacier National Park. Nestled between British Columbia and Alberta, Glacier National park is one of the best destinations where you can start your trip with. It covers around 16,000 square miles and is the homeland for the Grizzly bear, the Canadian lynx, mountain bighorn sheep, and mountain goats. It is also known as the Crown of the Continent Ecosystem. If you’re more into hiking, you’ll be interested to know that there are various hiking trails, like Huckleberry Mountain Trail.

Virginia City

If you want a throwback to a bygone era, Virginia City is the right destination for you. The historic town proudly displays its vintage houses, historic monuments, narrow railways, and cobblestone roads everywhere you look. It was also a commercial hub and the biggest town in the state, that is, until the year 1875. Moreover, Virginia city is historically known for gold mining, and it does attract travelers from every which way, especially those who like to relish in the medieval times. So, if you want to go back in history, and visit the Thompson Hickman Museum, Virginia city is your destination.

Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park

Montana has filled with natural parks all around, but there aren’t that many cave parks that feature one of the best sceneries and interesting topography. Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park is a hotspot for tourists, as it features a number of caves, astounding formations of stalactite and stalagmite as well as pillars. There you can enjoy taking a guided walk and taking as many photos as you want. You can also enjoy a picnic or go canoeing to see the wildlife there. You can also visit the Heritage Museum or pay a visit to the nearby Headwater State Park.

Helena

Of course, you can’t go to Montana without visiting its capital city. Helena is also another location that also attracts a large number of tourists. Though it is more modern than Virginia city, Helena still has a historic aura to it, which you’ll find evident in historic-modern monuments and buildings. You can take tours through the city or trek your way to the Mountain Gates of the Mississippi River.

6 Amazing Places to Visit in Montana and How to Do It

There are also a number of interesting destinations, such as the Cathedral of Saint Helena, Mount Helena Park, and the Montana State Capitol. The Montana Historical Society museum is another interesting location for history geeks, as it exhibits artifacts both modern and historic.

Whitefish

If you ever find yourself in Kalispell or the Glacier National Park, then you must definitely go to the beautiful Whitefish resort in the north. Due to a glacier activity, Whitefish was created in the Flathead Valley. It is also surrounded by freshwater, which means you’ll get to see a breathtaking landscape of lakes and streams. Whitefish is one of the best destinations for anyone who likes to be about and about, as you’ll find a wealth of outdoor activities that you can enjoy.

Conclusion

Finding the best destinations in Montana isn’t that hard of a task, especially since you’ll have a large variety of options to choose from. Whether you want to enjoy the feel of the vibrant city, immerse yourself in old history, or enjoy some of that cowboy culture, Montana will be a perfect destination for your next trip.
