4 Fun Things to Do in Sunrise, Florida

Sunrise is a small city located in western Broward County of Florida that not a lot of people know as a place to vacation, making it a perfect place to go for a relaxing beach escape with all of the usual amenities that you might need or want, but without all the crowds from other larger cities. That’s why I decided to list the bestThings to do in Sunrise Florida.

The best part is that there are also tons of family-friendly things all over the place. Keep reading to find a list of four of my favorite.

Things to Do in Sunrise, Florida

1. Explore the Everglades

This is a national park that protects 20% of the Everglades and is one of the largest tropical wilderness of the country. It is so important that it was even declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is an extremely important place for birds and many other endangered species.

When you visit the Everglades the best way to explore it is by going on an Airboat Ride This is a relaxing way to see and learn all about the importance of the area.

2. See a Hokey Match at BB&T Center

Or any other of the over 200 events that take place in it every year.

This arena was built with state-of-the-art technology and has hosted some of the most important entertainers of our days, that includes the Cirque Du Soleil and Disney on Ice. If you are going for a visit in the next few months, make sure to take a look at their events schedule to see if there is an event that interests you.

3. Sawgrass Mills Mall

If you are looking to do some shopping, find good restaurants and have a good time with the family, you can’t miss this place where you can get lost for hours. Take a look at this sawgrass mills mall shopping center map to learn all about its distribution and the stores you will find in it.

4. Sawgrass Sanctuary

Sawgrass Sanctuary is much more than another park. This is also a 20-acre park learning center. IT serves a double purpose of preserving the City’s ecological heritage and educating families through fun activities such as the annual Woofstock Festival.

Some of the things you will be able to enjoy in it are: an observation platform, a fishing pier and fishing bank, a 200-foot boardwalk, a .64 mile walking path, two picnic pavilions, a concert platform and restrooms.
