The Joshua Tree National Park in California is a popular destination for camping with the family, hiking, and sightseeing. The park was named for the Joshua trees that are found there. The Joshua tree is a tall, spindly tree that grows in the Mojave Desert. The park has many different kinds of desert plants and animals. It also has rock formations and cliffs. But most importantly, it has many hiking trails. That’s why I gathered, some of the best hiking trails in Joshua Tree National Park

But you can follow a path to the South, almost around the backside where you can reach the peak of the trail, the challenge is well worth the breathtaking views of the surrounding Salton Sea to the south, Cottonwood Mountain to the west, and Eagle Mountains to the northeast.

Barker Dam Loop

Barker Dam Loop is a super easy 1.2 miles lightly trafficked loop trail with minimal elevation gain. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from October until May. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on a leash.

The Barker Dam Loop is a popular hike in Joshua Tree National Park. It is an easy walk that takes you around the Barker Dam, which was built in the early 1900s.
