ntro: Vantrue continues to impress.
I’ve used/tested a dozen or more dash cams, most of them from Vantrue. This review is based upon a few hours of installing and checking out how it operates. If I have a major change, will make an update to this review.

Photos: unopened box, camera mounted on front window (using cigarette plug) with intent to hard wire soon, and a low resolution snapshot of the screen (actual camera quality much higher).

Pros: First impressions are pretty good. The packaging and components (cords, camera, manual, etc) all feel solid and high quality. The box was complete, having everything that was supposed to come with it.
-Camera: overall first impressions are good, though a bit thicker than some of my other Vantrue cameras, the mounting system is low profile, which gives it an overall smaller footprint. Initial picture quality seems to rival the other top tier Vantrue cams.
-Mounting/Cables- the mounting on this camera is by a self adhesive sticker. In my application, I think this is an upgrade from the traditional suction cup, though I don’t intend to swap it around from car to car. I really like the new magnetic mounting clip (links the camera chassis to the mount), very easy on and off, doesn’t feel like I’m about to crack the mechanism as there are no moving parts. Cables are very solid, high quality feel (see cons also) and in my Honda CRV application are plenty long.
Wi-Fi: I got it up and running in under a few mins. Once linked, it worked solid. Really liked the opportunity to see the videos, and access the camera settings. Way better than punching the small buttons on the camera. Easily accomplished a firmware update (via the Wi-Fi; ie no memory card used or cables needed…nice).
-manual: the English version is well written and easy to understand.
-Vantrue: overall I’ve always had good luck with tech support, thus far I haven’t used them in this camera, but it’s an important pro for me and why I continue to use their products.

Cons: to set the stage, the cons are pretty light so far. I’d say these are more of nice to have or general observations.

Camera- on the camera settings itself, like setting up the date, Vantrue still hasn’t fixed the opposite direction of their buttons (user has to push the up button to go earlier in time, or the down button to go forward in time). To me this is backwards; it’s a minor annoyance, not at all a show stopper.
Mounting: package comes with a thin electrostatic plastic film that goes between the glass and the camera adhesive mount. Functionally it works fine. It’s a bit bigger than probably needed, I had trouble getting all the bubbles out, and though discussed in the manual, we did have to read the instructions several times to understand it’s use. Btw, I think it’s used to help keep the camera adhered to the window, and yet allow a user at some later date to uninstall the whole system without dealing with the difficulty of the adhesive being directly to the window glass.
Cables: listed as a pro because the cables really do seem high quality gear; as a con, they are slightly thick, making it a bit more interesting to route the rear camera cable. Almost afraid to list it as a con, I don’t want the quality to go down at all… I like the high quality gear… I just note routing is a bit more difficult.
Auto off: I’m not sure what it would take to incorporate a low voltage auto off feature or timer might be a huge engineering hurdle … Vantrue doesn’t seem to put this feature on their cameras … I use the Vantrue hard wire cable for this, not big of a deal since I need to hardwire anyway, but if it was organic to the camera itself, I think having it would be listed as a pro.

Conclusion: Im initially really liking this model. I think Vantrue has incorporated all of the best features into this camera. Is it perfect? Probably somewhat depends on the users needs. I like my old Vantrue cameras, but if this model continues to impress, I’ll probably upgrade my other 2 cars. This system hits pretty much all the items I’m interested in.

This review is for the Vantrue N4 Pro camera. If you want a quick one-line summary of this camera, here it is. The camera is EASY to set up, has GREAT picture and video quality, and is SIMPLE to use! If you are looking for a more in-depth review, keep reading.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box is the cord lengths. There is plenty to get things routed so they are completely hidden from the interior. I used a metal fish wire to get between the car ceiling and the roof. The little plastic pry bar they provide helps poke the wire under the various rubber seals and plastic parts from the top of the windshield to where your power outlet is. Once the wires were run, it's a simple matter of cleaning the glass and attaching the cameras. Insert a memory card (not included), plug in the cords, aim the cameras, and you are good to go.

There's an app to download and connect to the camera, but I found very little that I wanted to change. The defaults seemed to be exactly what I wanted. You could also use the buttons on the camera itself to modify the settings. They are clearly marked and easy to find (the screen functions are placed directly over the button location). I wouldn't skip the app, though. You'll want it to grab saved videos.

As for capturing those events that are important to you, the auto capture seemed to work just fine. I didn't have an accident, but I did purposefully hit a larger bump to simulate one and it dutifully captured all camera footage. There was even an audible notification so you knew it grabbed things. There's also a big orange button that you can press to force a capture. Easy to find, easy to press. It's what I used when I wanted to mark recordings for later download. I didn't use the voice method only because I can never remember the trigger words.

Now that you have videos that you saved, you will want to get them, somehow. You could take the memory card out of the camera and transfer them via USB, but that's a lot of effort. The camera has built in wireless, even 5G! Remember that app? Here's where it really shines. You can connect to the camera and select which video you want, and it will transfer to your phone. It's even pretty quick, considering the size of the files that are made. These are HD quality, after all.

The quality is amazing! I've included two sets of four pictures. The first set of four is from the day, the second from night. There is a screen capture from the front camera, internal camera, and rear camera. I then used my phone to zoom in on the license plate of the car in front of me so you can see the quality. Frankly, I'm amazed you can read the plate on the car so easily given the distance involved.

PS - the pictures have been all chopped up to comply with Amazon's vague rules. Sorry. You'll just have to have faith that you can read things easily.

It was a quick install on my car. It took roughly 30 minutes and the usbc to the rear camera is more than enough to reach the rear windshield. I love the fact that every connector is usbc so I can adjust the cable at any angle. The video quality is awesome during the day and great at night. During the day, it can capture license plates easily but at night there are some instances where the license plate is undeterminable. It is also great that videos from every camera is stored on one single sd card. The app is great, it easy to use and is awesome in helping installing the camera. One thing I dislike is during the latest firmware update all my settings were lost, but it is only two specific settings so no big deal. I would recommend this dashcam to others. You are definitely getting what you paid for with image quality and features.

Included Items
* Pretty much everything that you need to install is included even a plastic pry tool to hide the cables under the head liner. Included items are - Front camera, rear camera, 20 ft USB-C cable to connect front and rear camera, ~10 ft USB-C cable to connect the front camera to the cigarette lighter power adapter which has an additional USB-C port for charging other device as well, 3M stickers (couple of extra), pry tool, adhesive promoter, cleaning cloth, warning sticker (protected by Vanture dashcam)
Build Quality
* Excellent build quality
* Well packaged
Installation
* Straight forward installation with clear documentation. All you need to do is connect the front camera to the USB-C power, connect the front and rear camera via USB-C cable.
* Installation gets a bit tricky depending on the model of the vehicle and how you want to route and hide your cables. I installed it on a 2023 Sienna. It was easy to hide the front camera power cable by running it though the roof liner, bringing it down behind the a pillar and connecting to the power. However connecting the front and rear took a while since it has be routed through the roof liner all the way to the rear passing through the a, b & c pillars. At some places, it was difficult to pry the plastic cover and hide the cable behind. So the clean installation depends on the type of your vehicle. It took 2-3 hrs for me to install it clean without any cable visible outside.
Front Camera
* Not a touch screen. Its the only limitation that I see on this. However it makes sense as well since the display is pretty small and it would be hard to work with when you are driving. 4 buttons at the bottom does all the navigation/selection which would be easy with a bit of muscle memory in the long run.
Rear Camera
* Doesn't have any controls on it. Settings like rear video resolution etc., can be controlled via front camera or app itself
App
* The best part of this setup is the Vantrue app. Its pretty easy to pair the device with the android mobile app (instructions given in the paper manual was very clear and spot on).
* App provides easy access to all the settings. I felt its much easier to change the settings on the mobile app than the front camera buttons since you are working on a mobile device with touch screen.
* Settings are easily laid out and the app is easy to navigate between different views (single camera view or all 3 views in one). One thing which is missing is about the description of the settings. Most of them are self explanatory however having a small help description for each setting would be helpful
Video quality
* Video quality looks great both on the day time as well as the night time low light conditions
* Easy to read the license plate on the other cars (only on the 4k resolution). It gets a bit fuzzy on the 1080p resolution. Using a 256 Gig samsung pro endurance card so it shouldn't be a problem for me recording in 4K
Final thoughts
* Overall its a good purchase. Excellent build and video quality for the price with a good app to support. Will update the review after using it for a while. Have to try it out on different lighting conditions and also to see if it gets hot during the hot summer days.

I had been searching for a dashcam for a long time, and finally, I selected this one. This being my first dashcam, I am impressed with its video quality. I did face some difficulties with the mount installation initially, but eventually, I figured it out. The pros of this dashcam include excellent video quality, three channels, and clear readability of license plates in both front and rear footage. I disabled the interior-facing camera for privacy reasons. It's a great tool for recording daily drives, thanks to its superb video recording quality. However, a downside is the lack of a good mobile app.

I would like to begin the review by addressing the price. At first glance, the price seems to be a little high but after the $80 instant coupon is applied it brought it down into the great bargain category. The packaging was superb and all of the contents were clearly marked.I would recommend getting one of the hard wire kits, because who still plugs into a cigarette lighter/12-volt plug? I chose to buy the OBll wiring kit.

The packaging was superb and all of the contents were clearly marked. There is also a wiring diagram included. The kit comes with adhesive pads but I tend to use an aftermarket adhesive, as the weather gets hot here and I've found that some adhesive can't hang on too long in the heat. This is not to say the supplied adhesive is inferior, as I didn't use it.

I updated the software before beginning the installation. The updates went smoothly and were completed fast. I installed the front camera on the top passenger side of the windshield where it wouldn't draw any unwanted attention. I then ran the OBll connection to the camera and aimed it so it could take advantage of its maximum recording area. This was easy to accomplish with the app on my phone. I then ran the cable to the rear of my vehicle (easy to do if you are knowledgeable about your vehicle). I mounted the rear camera high and centered on the rear window. The entire installation took 20-30 minutes and was very simple.

I drove the car for a few days and nights testing the dashcam to see if the STRAVIS 2 lens was marketing hype or not. I download the video from the drives onto my computer and viewed it on a 32" monitor. The front camera does display in 4k and the other two channels display in 1080p, as stated in the description. The description lists HDR which it may be able to do when viewed on equipment that can process HDR. In all of the videos, the license plate numbers on the cars that were in front of me were easy to read. The entire fields of view were in focus and all objects were very distinguishable.

Overall, I rate this dashcam to be better than the Blackvue and Thinkware, I have in my other vehicles. Let's face it, the reason to install a dashcam is to capture clear pictures or videos of incidents, and this camera does a great job of that. I consider the camera to be a great bargain for what it offers and highly recommend it.

For the price, I wish this came with a rear camera attachment, as I've seen some dual camera sets for similar prices. However, I am not factoring the lack of one into my review.

PROs:
- Video Quality: I run mine at max resolution at 30fps, and the FPS trade off for resolution is WORTH IT. Get the higher quality video and don't worry about freeze framing anything.
- Flat cable: easy to hide and much easier to deal with than some very thick cylindrical cables Ive seen with other dash cams
- Suction cup: I will start by saying that it SOMETIMES falls during extremely hot weather. Out here in California summers, leaving your car parked in direct sunlight may cause this thing to fall. Its done it a handful of times, but not enough to be a real problem, and its never fallen off while driving. The reason Im willing to live with a few falls is because I like being able to move it around easily without dealing with sticky stuff on my windshield. It will NOT fall while driving.
- Lots of features like parking mode, motion detection, and plenty of options for filming loops and pictures.
- Wide angle sees your whole viewpoint as a driver

CONs: There are not many, but just my few grips with it
- Size: not the size of the camera itself, but the size of the mounting device makes this thing extend 5-6 inches off the windshield. Depending on your car, this can be pretty egregious in your viewpoint and I don't like that I can see so much of it (even though I hid it as much as I could behind my rear view mirror).
- Parking mode: I know I put this in the PROs and I did it because at least it has the feature. However, the biggest problem with this is that it doesn't do "reverse" recording. In other words, this camera will detect a jolt to your car or detect motion in front of your car, and THEN start recording about 3-4 seconds after it detects. What SHOULD happen is that it should always be recording on standby, and then do a revert of 5 seconds PRIOR to the jolt/motion that it detects. If someone rams your parked car and immediately runs away, this camera will NOT pick up anything, only the aftermath. So that's my biggest gripe with it.
- Inserting the microSD card can be a pain. Make sure you watch a youtube video to learn how to do it and be careful not to stick it in the wrong way. You can actually get your card stuck in the camera. Ive almost done it.

Otherwise, despite those really annoying gripes I have with it, the quality of the camera both day and night are fantastic. Despite it falling in the heat sometimes, I have yet to have any corrupt footage due to the heat. I use the Samsung 128gb endurance cards and they work perfectly. I give this a 4/5 for the quality of the video alone. But that -1 star could easily be -2 stars for all the reasons I mentioned.

Recently, I purchased the Vantrue N4 Pro that has completely transformed my driving experience, and I felt obliged to share my 5-star review with potential buyers.

The first feature that immensely impressed me is the built-in GPS. This feature is exceptionally accurate and dependable, consistently providing precision data of my vehicle's routes and speed. This geo-tracking aspect is instrumental when you need a comprehensive record of your travel journeys or for potential insurance need.

The dashcam also comes with an impressive voice control feature that's efficient and responsive. It allows me to command and control the dashcam hands-free, making it a safe companion on the road. Add to that the Wi-Fi sharing option - uploading, saving, and sharing clips have been a breeze. It's not just a dashcam but an intelligent device that elevates the convenience factor to a whole new level.

As for the recording quality, it's simply great. With clear video quality, every detail is captured to the finest, ensuring no moment goes unnoticed. The three-channel recording further enhances the user experience. It provides a comprehensive perspective, recording from the front, rear, and inside the car - ensuring you'll never miss any crucial detail, no matter the direction.

Finally, the handy app and the user-friendly menu have made navigating through the device extremely easy. Both are highly responsive, allowing quick adjustments and real-time views. And despite all the features it hosts, the dashcam never lags or freezes up - a testament to its well-optimized functionality.

To sum up, this three-channel dashcam perfectly integrates a multitude of advanced features such as built-in GPS, voice control, Wi-Fi sharing, and crisp three-channel recording, all of which are operated through a fast and responsive app. For anyone looking to invest in a reliable, high-quality dashcam to enhance their driving experience, look no further. This dashcam truly delivers- and then some.

In the photos I attached I've yet to route the rear camera properly as it requires removing trim off of my vehicle very carefully, but I've purchased the Vantrue branded hardwire kit and glare polarizing filter and they of great quality and necessary additions.

I've been watching a lot of dash cam videos on YouTube, these videos make my blood pressure spike. The amount of entitled and inconsiderate drivers made me worry about the rest of the family. After watching some grainy videos out there, I decided that I needed something that was at the very least 1080P so the license plates would, at least, be readable. Zeroed in on the Vantrue N4 because of the 3 cameras and the 4k and 1080p.

Ordered and received the dashcam the next day. Remember to order a micro sd memory card, I'm glad I buy them on sale before I actually need them.

Installing the dashcam was easy. The hardest part was hiding the wire going to the rear of the car. I also had to climb into the rear cargo area to mount the rear facing camera. This requires you to shut the hatch. Be sure to hang onto the car keys, if you have mischievous kids. Mine decided it would be funny to lock me in the rear and leave.

To interface with the camera, you have to download the Vantrue app in the app store. The reviews for the app weren't that good but I didn't have any trouble connecting to it on an iPhone 14. I drove around and after a few days checked the app. I didn't expect to find anything because I thought I had to trigger the recording. That wasn't the case. Everything was automatically done. We even captured a minor bicycle accident that we sent to the victim. All in all I'm happy with this camera. I find that with dashcams they're "good to have and not need rather than need and not have." I would totally get another N4 for my next car.

The Vantrue N4 Dash Cam is an absolute game-changer when it comes to capturing moments on the road. This camera system is a total powerhouse with its 3-channel setup, including a front camera, interior camera, and rear camera. You won't miss a beat with this bad boy!

First off, let's talk about the front camera. It's out of this world, recording in glorious 4K Ultra HD resolution. The level of detail it captures is mind-blowing. You can practically see every pebble on the road! Plus, the wide-angle lens ensures that nothing escapes its view. It's like having an extra set of eyes on the road, giving you peace of mind.

But it doesn't stop there. The interior and rear cameras are just as impressive, recording in crystal-clear Full HD 1080p resolution. They're perfect for keeping an eye on your passengers or capturing any unexpected incidents happening behind your vehicle. It's like having your very own surveillance system right in your car!

One feature that really blew me away is the built-in GPS tracking. It accurately logs your vehicle's location and speed during your trips. This feature is a lifesaver when it comes to insurance claims or providing evidence in case of an accident. You'll never have to worry about your word against someone else's again!

Now, let's talk about night vision. The Vantrue N4 Dash Cam truly shines in low-light conditions. With its Super Night Vision technology, it's like having night vision goggles for your car. I was amazed at how clear the footage was, even in the darkest of nights. And the HDR technology ensures that every detail is well-lit, no matter how challenging the lighting conditions are.

This dash cam also comes with some nifty features that make it a breeze to use. Motion detection is a real game-changer. It automatically starts recording whenever it detects movement, even if your car is parked. And the loop recording feature ensures that you never run out of space on your memory card. It cleverly overwrites the oldest footage, so you don't have to worry about constantly deleting files.

All in all, the Vantrue N4 Dash Cam is the real deal. It's packed with impressive specs, easy-to-use features, and top-notch performance. If you want to capture every moment on the road, from accidents to epic road trips, this camera system has got your back. Trust me, once you experience the peace of mind it brings, you'll wonder how you ever drove without it!

I started doing Instacart, DoorDash, and Ubereat in March. I realize that I will spend so much more time on the road and the risk of accidents will dramatically increase.

I knew I have to get a dashcam to protect the potential liabilities. After intensive research, I decided to move forward with this dashcam because of its capabilities and functionalities. I feel confident to drive on the road as I know I am covered from any potential not-at-fault liabilities.
Here are the functionalities that can protect you from false insurance claims:
1. 4K video front camera recording - it captures all the information when you drop off your package and they can be used as evidence for delivery.
2. GPS and map built in. Your recordings are saved and marked with the maps in the app. which mean it can prove that you have been to the correct address.
3. Inside camera - This function protect you from potential liabilities when you have a passenger inside of your car. It's critical important to select a dashcam has this feature when you are doing Uber/Lyft.
4. Back camera - This camera can captures the video of cars behind you, it's useful for some incidents.
5. Speed recordings - Another features to protect you from potential liabilities like tickets.
6. Voice control - I can take a photo when I ask it to do so, you can also mute this feature by pressing the button.

Overall, I believe every ride-sharing drivers must have a great dashcam to protect themselves and this might be the one for you.

The dash cam arrived very quickly and the first thing you notice is the excellent packaging. Felt very high end and everything was packaged very well. This had me feeling good going into the install which was even better.

The instructions were very clear and easy to follow and I had both cameras installed and all wires hidden in under 30 min. I chose to place the camera unit behind the rear view mirror on the passenger side so that it does not obstruct my view. Even with it 90% hidden from view, I was able to still have the passenger facing camera view the entirety of the interior of the car. I did purchase the hardwire kit which added about another 30 minutes to the install, but that also came with everything I needed and that install was also very easy.

As for picture quality, so far so good. I was able to make out license plate numbers fairly easily both during the day and at night. I was going to add the lens filter, but don't think it needs it. The wifi makes checking the clips very easy and I have not had any connection issues. One nice feature is the automatic clip save. I had to stop short one time and I heard the camera automatically snap a pic and lock that clip so it does not get overwritten.

I have not had a need to look up anything in the parking mode yet, however, I have been able to access a few clips it captured. Just know that if you hardwire the camera, make sure to use an always on fuse so it still has power going to it.

Overall, I have been very pleased so far after a week of use. Luckily, I have not had a specific need for it yet, but I feel confident that it will work as expected if something does happen.

I recently purchased this 3 Channel Dash camera. It has a lot of useful features. All 3 cameras have excellent video quality, and very clear sound quality. All 3 cameras have a very good angle. The front camera can view a very large wide area in front. When I'm standing on a red light, I can see the front of the car that stands right next to me, same with the rear camera. The cable for the rear camera is very long, and easy to hide. The cabin camera also has a wide view, can see everyone in the car. The camera also has the ability to connect to an APP that you can download from the Google play store, and Apple app store. The app works great, and since the camera has a 5GHz WiFi capability, downloading videos to your phone takes less than a minute, even though the files are large. All 3 cameras record at 4K. I set my camera to record 3 minutes at a time. Also, when you connect your camera to your phone for live view, the video goes very smoothly without any lag. So far I really love and enjoy this camera. I have saved multiple videos for memories of places that I was driving at. There was a small issue, but not with the actual camera, but with the 3M tape that holds the camera on your windshield. I contacted Vantrue and they addressed the issue immediately, and sent me the new part without any problems. I wanted this particular brand a long time ago, and finally I got it. I'm very happy with it, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT to anyone who wants a good quality dash camera.

After years of using a cheap "1080p" dashcam that could not make out a license plate I decided I wanted a higher quality dashcam with a rear cam option. I had put another Vantrue cam in my Moms van a few years back and she never had any trouble with it. Looking at various models I settled on the N4 pro because it checked all the boxes I was looking for. The instruction manual was very extensive not like the little pamphlets I'm used to getting but an actual book with clear instructions. Installation was a breeze. I did break from the manual a bit and install my front cam under my rear view mirror instead of next to it. This was a better fit for my install. The app setup was quick and painless and after a quick firmware update I was all set. I really like that I can change the recording method and disable the mic. I'm sure this will encourage better driving habits when my teenager borrows the car. I really like the ability to turn on gps and a speed tracking and have it stamped right into the video. My one con which is for dashcams in general is that I have to order the obd connector separately to power it. I wish there was an option to bundle your preferred connection type and leave the dc plug out all together. I have it plugged into the dc port while I wait for the obd connector to arrive. Overall I'm impressed with the build quality and the video quality. It is so helpful to finally be able to pull a clip and see a license plate clearly.

This is the first time I have written a review on an item that I purchased via Amazon. I have always wanted a dash cam so after some research on the Vantrue products and decided on the Vantrue N4 Pro 3 Channel 4K WiFi Dash Cam. I wanted a dash cam that was easy to use/install and would give me all three views front, inside and rear with stunning picture quality and that's exactly what I got with this set up. It was clear that I needed to purchase a SD card and hardwire kit separately, and their website was helpful steering me to the right products I needed to complete the install. It took me about two hours to install as I am very particular on running the wires and hiding them properly for a clean look.

Pros:

1. Vantrue app is very user friendly
2. Computer site is also user friendly as well.
3. Wifi is a must ! Outstanding
4. Voice activation works incredibly well.
5. Manual easy to follow for a beginner in dash cams. Camera is user friendly.
6. The quick RED side button lock on the side to protect your video events from being looped over works well.
7. Get close enough you can easily read license plate tags.
8. Comes with GPS so no need to purchase extra GPS mounting bracket.
9. Stunning videos and pictures
10. I installed in my 2023 Tacoma, and it came with enough wire for the back facing camara.

Cons:

1. Wish list: would be nice to have touch screen but definitely not a showstopper.

In closing I highly recommend this product, as this is a must if you're in search of a dash cam. Works as advertised with no problems after a week of using.
I'm sorry if this is not professionally written but I wanted to help someone if you are on the fence about purchasing this product. Hope it helps.

We do a lot of road trips and have needed to rely on the footage a couple of times which has more than paid for the cost of owning one. I have an earlier Vantrue model that I love so I didn't hesitate to upgrade to the N4 Pro when I saw it on Amazon. So glad I did as this is the best dashcam I have used to date.

What I really like about the Vantrue N4 Pro:
- Very easy to setup. The box includes a stiff clear plastic card that "sticks" to the window without adhesive, and the unit sticks to the card with adhesive. This allows me to easily move the unit between vehicles as needed without any mess on the glass. The unit is powered by USB C so I can use my phone charger in other vehicles to make moving the unit even easier. The unit easily disconnects from the magnetic GPS mount for safe storage when not in use. The fact that the GPS mount is included means your speed is also recorded along with location data.
- Very easy to use. The manual is 26 English pages and the menus system on the unit is very simple and intuitive. Simple enough to not even require the manual. When driving there is a large emergency record button on the end of the unit. The unit has collision detection so that important video is locked in the event of a crash. I can confirm this works as a pothole we hit set it off but the sensitivity can be adjusted.
- The description list the cameras as 4K HDR with Sony Starvis 2. Just know that translates to amazing picture quality. We had plenty of time through bright sun, heavy rains and night time hours, and the picture quality is top notch. See a couple a couple of recorded pics/clips in this review.
- The microSD card has a simple layout with the latest videos in Normal, and locked videos (crash detection or manually clicked) in the Event folder all named in an intuitive way based on date and time.
- There's a phone app that allows you to access the dashcam and view footage, so you don't need a card reader.

I have yet to explore Time Lapse recording further. I wish I had played with this for one of the travel segments we did.

There are a few other extras as well:
- In addition to the rear cam, there's an interior camera that records the full inside of the vehicle. I am sure someday I'll be glad this feature is there but for now we haven't needed it.

One other comment is this definitely is built for standard vehicles with slanted windshields. When we use it in our RV with a vertical windshield, we have to use a 3rd party mount.

I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone looking for a new or upgraded dashcam.

Since installing the Vantrue N4 Pro Dash Cam, I have found a newfound sense of security and convenience. Despite initial concerns over the installation process, I found it to be straightforward, with cables being long enough to be neatly installed in my car.

As a daily commuter, witnessing accidents on the road is not uncommon. Having the N4 Pro has greatly alleviated my concerns about being involved in one - I know that if an incident does occur, everything will be reliably documented.

Another feature I find incredibly valuable is the in-cabin camera and the built-in microphone. They provide an additional level of security, ensuring that any interactions if I'm ever pulled over are fully recorded. It's comforting to know that I can present clear evidence if necessary.

The bright, clear LCD displays all the necessary information, so I never worry whether the recording function is working while driving. All in all, the Vantrue N4 Pro Dash Cam has been a worthy investment for its robust features and the peace of mind it offers. I highly recommend it to other drivers.

I noticed a few people using a dash cam and for the last year I’ve wanted to get the right one. I’m glad I waited because this is the best dash cam.

For me, a good dash cam is one that provides excellent picture quality. I especially got this in case of hit-in-run situations when capturing the license plates are an absolute must. It three cameras with 4K quality for the front and 1080P for the cabin and rear, this actually exceeded my satisfaction. The picture quality was as good at night time as well. I’m also not so tech savvy, so I’m glad that the dash cam and the Ventrue app is user friendly and easy to connect to my phone and has impressive recording and voice control quality.

There are a lot of dash cams out there for cheaper, but I think getting the best camera for my hard earned bucks is better than buying something cheaper that doesn’t do the same job. I’m hoping to keep this for a long haul. This may be my first review on here, but I wanted to make an impact because it is a beneficial product for society.

I have been a loyal customer of Vantrue and the Vantrue N4 Pro 3 Channel 4K WiFi Dash Cam is my third camera from them. Just like their previous models, this dash cam has exceeded my expectations. Recently, I was involved in an accident where another driver claimed I was at fault due to speeding. Luckily, my Vantrue dash cam captured the incident and proved that I was driving within the speed limit. The video quality is outstanding, especially at night thanks to the STARVIS 2 IMX678 Night Vision technology. The triple camera setup provides comprehensive coverage of the front, inside, and rear of my vehicle. The voice control feature and GPS tracking add to the convenience and functionality of this dash cam. With 4K HDR and 24H parking mode, I feel confident knowing that my vehicle is protected at all times. The support for up to 512GB of storage is impressive as well. I highly recommend the Vantrue N4 Pro to anyone looking for a reliable and high-quality dash cam for their car.

Protip: I highly recommend using Samsung PRO Endurance series for their high read/write capability & reliability, which is what the dashcam does.

This is a very good dashcam that records not just the exterior (front/back) but also the interior. With OTA upgrades possible (when I setup it out of the box, there was a firmware upgrade that popped up automatically when I connected to the app!!!), I am sure this will be usable for a long time!!

Setup was a breeze, the attachment to hide the cables was helpful to run it to the back of the car. I see there is an attachment (Dash Cam Hardwire Kit) for continuous power - it would have been helpful if it was bundled together, but I am planning to buy it to montior 24/7.

The only issue I had was to remove the 3M adhesive to attach to the windshield. The adhesive was very strong, and the red cover tape that you have to remove, it was difficult.

Overall, I am happy with the dashcam, and just used it for a long road trip. I haven't fully utilized all the features available (the app settings seems very detailed too), but with whatever I have used, I am satisfied with the purchase!!

The camera has plenty of options and easy to follow menus. I also love that it can connect to your phone so no need to take the memory card out to download videos.

It has really good quality video and audio! You can even take time lapse footage if you go on road trips as well. You can speak to it and have it capture footage as well as other commands! I like that it can work when the vehicle is off if you wire to the fuse box. Also the dash cam is made of good quality and hopefully will last me a long time. It was easy to program and install, and I was glad to customize the settings (lower resolution video setting) so that I can keep weeks of footage before overwriting the earlier files since I travel often and won't always be able to backup the files. I'm sure I could find a solution with more storage space on my smartphone or an external drive, but this is most convenient for my usage. The wifi set up, Vantrue app synching and customizations were seamless and took less than 30 minutes to dial in just how I wanted them. Even with the lower res video setting, the images are still crystal clear and make me feel confident that I'll have good information if an accident ever occurs. The Vantrue smartphone app really made the setup easier than navigating the small camera screen with 4 tiny buttons.

I’ve had this camera for about 2 weeks now. The installation was quite easy. Setup was straight forward. I did flip the rear camera upside down but there is a section in the menu to flip it 180 degrees so the image was correct again

Pros:
* Starvis 2 super night vision was a huge upgrade from my previous Rover 2k.
* 4K with HDR was once more an upgrade from the 2k I had.
* Voice control is a nice added feature.
* Overall easy to setup. I ran my wire from back to front then pulled the excess rear camera wire back to the back so that the excess was in the back. Made it for very clear install
* 3m tape is super grippy better than my previous
* Built in GPS
* USB C makes this a lot easier to install. Especially if wanting to directly hook up to fusebox. I like the USBC protocol more.
* Well built

Cons:
* 3m tape was super grippy so I did have to use a knife to even remove the protective layer.

Overall I would definitely recommend this camera. Simple easy to install and great video quality. Has all the little nice features of voice and wifi too. Great value and huge upgrade as compared to a lot of other cameras on market now. Always nice to have a Starvis 2 Lens

Installing and setting up was easy and smooth. VanTrue provided everything I needed. I like the USB-C type cable which this company uses. This was helpful since I needed to take off the dashcam for upgrading firmware when I have already mounted the provided cables using my own one.

This N4 Pro model uses STARVIS 2 and 4K HDR technologies that provide super night vision video and photo. I was testing it driving in the city at night with great outcome.

I like the wide-angle view and image sensor that VanTrue decided to have on this product since the camera could utilize all ambient light at best aperture for best quality still image and motion video. The 3-channel recording is also great feature for us when we need to have cover in the front, back, and inside the vehicle at once.

A little suggestion I have is that it would great if VanTrue could provide a hardwire kit for me to wire this dashcam directly to my car’s battery for parking mode. With all features this N4 Pro comes with it, I highly recommend this dashcam. Best value for the money.

This quite a beefy dash cam, quality looks better than my Garmin Dash cams, went from 1080p to 4k for the front facing.

Pros :
Single Unit which houses three cameras (including inside the cabin)
4K Front Facing Camera
1080 Inside and Rear
Files are neatly ordered within the SD card
Audio capture is decent
GPS data inculded in all captured files

Cons :
The rear camera cable could have been less thicker than what it is right now.
The app needs a bit of improvement

I love how well Vantrue packages up their camera. Each camera, cord, protective screen and manual is carefully packed. The Vantrue app connects easily and immediately downloaded an update to the dashcam wirelessly! No having to move a memory card to/from a computer. I chose to use the fron/back camera option and not include the interior camera. If I was an Uber driver or wanting to keep track of my passengers then I'd turn it on. It is very easy to make changes to the settings via the app and it connects immediately as soon as I get in the car. Vantrue updates the app and firmware themselves-this isn't some company that relies on cobbling together hardware from here and software from there.
I am very happy with my purchase! Being able to download videos at 5 Ghz speed makes the transfer very quick.

I had a previous model that was 2K and I love it. When one of my no brand dash cam went out on my other car, I decided to get another Vantrue and no regret at all. This 4K model is awesome even when recording dusk, the video came out crystal clear. It was very simple to installed as well. Also, I love that they went away from the suction cup and uses 3M adhesive so even in hot weather the camera isn't falling down. Where I am it's average about 98 degree every day and that camera is still on the windshield. I definitely would recommend this product!

I purchased the Vantrue T3 from Amazon. I have used for about a week and I'm impressed so far during my first week of use. I used the supplied 12v plug to power the unit. I will use the supplied OBD plug in the near future. The installation was easy, I just routed my wires around the edge of my headliner and in the rubber mold of the door and brought across underneath the glove box. It took me about 15 minutes. I installed on my 2018 Ford F-150 and I had plenty of length in the wire. The menu is easy to navigate and I was able to go through the different options and set it up in a few minutes. I shared a couple of pictures from a drive. The 1st one I was driving right into the evening sun and I could barely see out of my windshield, I had to put down my sun shade to see safely. The T3 did not have any issues and you can see that the video did not wash out. I'm really impressed by the quality of the video I have viewed. The motion sensing works well when parked. It records when there is movement in front of the truck.

I'm really pleased with my purchase. The main thing that caught my eye with this car video recorder was the fact that it uses a capacitor versus a battery to power the unit. I felt that was a safer option when the camera is exposed to the sun and heat. I highly recommend the Vantrue T3.

Fortunately this arrived on Tuesday before our trip on Thursday. Not a great deal of time, my fault, to learn all of the bells and whistles. We wanted a dashcam mostly for off-roading and for my commute with all of the motorcycles splitting lanes. So we went for this one.

The packaging was very professional, so that was a sigh of relief. The laat onecwe bought we returned as the packaging was hirrible and the quality was just as bad. This one, out if the box felt solid and the buttons were easily accessible on the drive, so that was a relief.

We haven't bought the GPS mount yet, and still on the fence whether we will or not. We have never used any of these gadgets in the past, and haven't had the need for an action camera plus didn't want to shell out that much wear we were trying to achieve here.

All and all we are happy with the video quality on playback. We will continue to play with all of the settings and learn more as we go. Pretty intuitive so don't feel it will take long to learn.

My family has a camp in northern Vermont which is about 150 mi away from where I live. We travel there often and have seen everything from accidents to wildlife. Whenever we see something my kids remind me of how we would have had a picture or a video if we had a dash cam. After driving through the White mountains of NH with rainbows all around us, I knew they were right.

I've had the dash cam set up for almost a week now and so far I'm impressed. The directions are printed and easy to follow. They even include pictures! Within 2 minutes of plugging it in I was ready to go.

I wasn't familiar with 1520p and didn't know what to expect. I was really please to see how clear the resolution was, especially on a small display. I haven't done much night driving but the video was clear in the little bit I did.

I do wish the GPS adapter came standard but it wasn't a deal breaker. All in all I'm pleased with the purchase and look forward to capturing some really cool things in our travels!

Put this in my 2018 crosstrek and I decided to use the cigarette lighter cord. They give you 3 options to connect the camera which I really like. I wanted to use the OBD port for the parking feature but I didn't want to risk the chance of it running my battery down. However, it's nice to have the cord in case I do want to use it. Comes with a cigarette lighter cord, the OBD cord, and a normal USB C cord. I bought a 3 in 1 cigarette lighter hub to integrate with this and my setup is working really well. Easy setup once you you run the cords where you want them. I sent support an email asking about the connection cords and they were quick to respond and helpful. All in all a good purchase so far and I'm happy with it. Hopefully, it holds up over time as a nice investment to protect myself when on the road. Everyone should have a dash cam. Dash cams have come a long way in terms of features and software since I last bought one.

Wait I got it! I can shout to her to throw the SD card out of the window, then I can view what happened.

Design a data plan where I as a father can access this information live. I don't care if I have to pay for it, **** I just dropped $450 on your camera another $50 won't matter when it comes to my kid.

I park my vehicle on the curb in a suburb neighborhood that has reportedly had some crime over the years, mostly car thief’s at night. So my primary thought process was to purchase a camera that it would activate when motion was detected near my vehicle at night in conjunction with my door bell camera. Secondary, I would use it for driving and insurance purposes incase I would be involved in an accident.

So far, I have only had to test this feature both while driving and leaving my car parked on the side of the street (video capturing mostly dog walkers). Upon reviewing the micro SD card video, the quality is much better than I was expecting, both in sunlight and with night vision. I will update this review once this camera has undergone the brutal colds of winter and the again in the high heat of next summer (it has only endured the crisp autumn weather so far as of this review timing).

The T3 dash cam has great film quality at 1520 P. It has no problem picking up details such as license plate numbers. It also films good quality video day or night as it has excellent night vision. Most dash cams these days have a parking mode option but you always have to buy the hardwire kit separately. Vantrue has finally gotten rid of this process by including its very own OBD parking mode kit inside the box. The OBD wire is very easy to install. It just took me a few minutes to hook it up and it works great. I purchased the T3 for less than $170 which is a great price. If you are looking for a high-quality dash cam that films just the front of your vehicle that has a super easy to install OBD parking mode wire included then this is the perfect dash cam for you!

I bought the dashcam and the double-stick GPS mount - the regular suction cup would lose its grip in cold weather or summer heat. The tape mount is solid - probably the best part of this dashcam if I'm being candid. The camera itself worked great for almost a year and then it just...stopped. I checked the voltage - fine. I checked the cards - they were all fine. I was able to get the camera to work but only for 15 minutes at a time and then it'll just shut itself off. Made it to a year before I gave up on it.

Not money well spent, in my opinion, because it should have lasted way longer than a year.

I will not buy this brand again.

This is it! Great wide angle footage and license plates come out crisp and clear to read due to the high resolution. The parking mode is working fantastic its been sitting in my parked car for 3 days and I popped into the garage and there goes the dashcam blinking a red light and recording me.

Installation was simple I used the obd cable and routed the cable along the edge of my car window. You can even use the DC charger provided.

The dash cam does a lot of great things. The picture and night quality are good. The unit uses USB-C and comes with various cables with good lengths. If you do not drive daily, do not use the OBD hardwired cable, the cutoff appears to be too low where my car is unable to start and needs a jump after sitting a few days. I bought this unit because it had a super capacitor instead of a battery. The suction cup is all luck if it stays up permanently, had a few times where the dash cam lost suction on the windshield but has been staying lately. To update the dash cam, you need to use the microSD card, would be nice if it could have been done wirelessly.

As a bonus the mount is the same as a t2 so I can switch cameras between cars and I don't have to Remove/install the micro USB or usb-c harness.

One thing to note, like the t2 the mount has a harder suction cup. You really need to clean the glass and wet the rubber before installing because otherwise these do fall down from time to time.

Where to start? Well, how about the PRO’s
Suction cup mount is strong and works very well.

Now for the CON’s

Even at the highest resolution, the image quality is very poor. Road signs are unreadable, speed limit signs are unreadable, license plates are unreadable, etc…. Yes, I installed the latest firmware. Yes, I removed the protective film over the lense. Yes, I tried viewing with VLC media player and Dashcam Viewer as well as Vantrue’s viewing software. Also, I used Vantrue’s microSD card. Nothing but dazzling pixels which may cause siezures.

I purchased the GPS mount compatible with this dashcam and found out that Vantrue’s PC viewing software displays just a worm trail of where you have been. No maps to clearly show where you have been. Also, the display of the video is plagued with cloud-like large pixels. This “updated” software is from 6/2017. Why haven’t the issues with it been addressed yet?

Vantrue’s support gave lick and a promise answers, not real solutions or assistance.

Also, I notice a flaw in the lens. Either it is trapped dirt or a crack, which speaks to the lack of quality control.

I am returning this for a refund.

Fooled me twice, shame on me.
After my previous Vantrue dashcam died after less than two years of use, I decided to give it another chance. Unfortunately, this camera performs worse.
First of all it stopped recording all in a sudden after two months. No alerts, no notifications, even the camera's menu itself seems fine. I only got to know this when I review the files on the SD card, and found out the camera has stopped recording a few days before.
Second time happened about three months after. One day, I noticed the light on the camera stopped lighting up. I tried to wake up the screen but nothing worked. Turned out the camera may crashed or something. I had to unplug the power and then replug.
Third time happened today. Last night my car was involved in an incident and I need to review my recordings. And then I found out the camera has stopped recording about a month ago.
Lessons learned, I will never trust Vantrue brand ever again.

Edit: It just stopped working for a forth time... I am going to buy another camera now.

I was happy to get my new car cam, I very carefully opened the package and read the instructions. I inserted the SD card exactly per the instructions , double-checking twice to ensure I had oriented the SD card correctly per the manual. I did feel a little friction going in so I stopped, double checked again to make sure I was doing it right, and finished slowly and carefully inserting the SD card. After inserting the SD card and turning on the unit, the display showed NO SD card. I then reviewed the instructions again but to no avail. The damn thing ate my SD card, and it was impossible to remove. (the instructions say to remove SD card simply push on it and it will spring out but this did not work.) I have probably 20 other items around my house that use SD cards, (cameras, game cameras, security cams, mobile devises, tablets, music pods, etc.) And am very familiar with the use, insertion and removal of SD cards. So not sure why this didn't work, I'm assuming a manufacturing defect, but anyway it doesn't work and I am definitely not happy with the product.

I've used several brands of dash cams over the past decade, most of them being 2 channel front and rear camera models, and in my opinion it is a must for any car owner. It has saved me from 2 different accidents, one was a hit-and-run that totaled my car worth about $16K at the time, and the other was a negligent elderly person slow rolling into my car at a red light causing $500+ worth of bumper damage. Needless to say, dash cams are my friend.

This is my first 3 channel, and boy am I impressed and excited to have this bad boy in my car. You can read a more in depth review below, but to sum it up it I feel it is one of the best dash cams on the market to protect you and your bank account, as well as your mental well being.

Upon receiving the product, the initial impressions is that this is a high quality product that is well engineered. The packaging was premium feel, and protected well with good documentation. First impressions with this type of product usually sets the theme as to what type of product you are actually getting.

Installation was of easy-average difficulty, more difficult for those that have never installed one with a rear facing camera. For this I recommend the plethora of Youtube videos out there. Although I've installed many rear facing cameras with wires extending all the way to the back, the plastic film with adhesion promoter was a first. I suppose in the long run it helps to keep the camera from falling off or shifting and easier relocation of the mounting point, but I couldn't get the film completely clear of any air bubbles even if I cleaned it quite well. There is also a slight haze that doesn't seem to go away after several weeks of installation. The cables were also quite thick compared to the other brands I've used, so it was more difficult to incorporate a clean install if hiding under panels is your goal.

Real world usage... the camera quality is very good. 4K up front and 1080P everywhere else is sufficient for most. Night vision is a hit or miss, as so many factors can contribute to a good or poor quality image as every dash cam I've ever used, but I have more faith in this N2 Pro than others. The quality could be even better if they included the polarization filter, but it is an industry standard that the lens is an add-on, but I ordered it as it is a must for only about $20 more. It fits like a glove, and I didn't need to rotate it but I assume I got lucky as results will vary.

The newest (to me) feature that I really enjoy is the Wi-Fi connectivity. You can view and download video clips. It is a bit wonky and needs some reliability tweaks, but I love this feature and trust that it will become refined as time passes.

One of the few issues I've noticed is that it trips the g-sensor and locks the video clip with an audible alert even while driving down a smooth road. I hope a future firmware will fix this because it will fill up unnecessary space on the memory card. It doesn't do this often, but often enough that it becomes annoying.

The app works flawlessly although you have the option to use it completely without the app. You can change settings on the app or on the cam itself if you don't want to use the app. I put a 256 micro sd as a 64 couldn't store all that much video on it. They give you the option to customize the quality of each of the cams to save sd storage
Install is really easy if you don't care how it looks, if you want a clean install with no wires hanging around, it'll take some time. I didn't hardware mine but I might in the future to utilize parking mode. I ran my wires through the columns and on top of the headliner so you can only see a little bit of wire right at the dashcam but otherwise the wires are completely hidden.
