This deal was originally sent out from Scott’s Cheap Flights, which offers alerts for discounted economy flights via its Premium membership, which costs $49 per year. Users can also upgrade to the Elite membership for $199 per year and receive alerts for premium economy, business-class and first-class deals.

Sample flights
This deal is for flying on JetBlue. To find the best price, I began my search with Google Flights. Select JetBlue in the airline section to narrow down available flights. After that, choose SJO as the destination and plug in the airport you are leaving from. I chose JFK and mid-September dates, and found nonstop flights for $240 in JetBlue’s Blue Basic category.

There are also flights available from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to San Jose (SJO) for $262 round trip. Both the departure and arrival are direct flights.

JetBlue’s Blue Basic is their most economic fare option and that fare class does not include a carry-on or seat selection, nor does it let you make ticket changes. If these travel options are important to you, consider upgrading to JetBlue’s Blue fare, which is an additional $80 for this specific round-trip flight.

Maximize your purchase

Bottom line
JetBlue is a favorite among travelers as it offers comfortable seats and complimentary Wi-Fi. Some of the flights featured in this deal are more than 60% off JetBlue’s traditional prices.
Costa Rica is a tropical paradise and San Jose is regularly cited for its affordability, scenery, food and nightlife so there is something for every traveler.
