For example, a Jan. 29 flight from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) is $189 across the five different airlines.
Whether you have loyalty to a particular carrier or hold a specific airline-branded credit card, choose the flight option that best aligns. (Pro tip: In this situation, don’t choose United because it charges for carry-on bags. A carry-on bag is included with the other airlines.)

Flights from Austin are naturally a bit more expensive and fall around $289. Some of the best options from the Texas capital are to Lihue Airport (LIH) on Kauai and Kona International Airport (KOA) on Hawaii’s Big Island.
